So, you have a two inch hitch but you have a inch and a quarter accessory for that hitch. Well, etrailer designed a couple of different reducers to reduce your two inch down to an inch and a quarter. So, you can use those accessories. The one we're looking at today is the one in the middle. It's not the longest and it's not the shortest one, but it's gonna give us about four and 3/8 of extension, along with reducing. So, that's the measurement from the center of this hole to the center of the other pinhole. more

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Roadmaster Anti-Rattle two inch hitch extender for tow bars. Now, this extender is designed for use with tow bars and will extend your two inch trailer hitch receiver opening out from the rear of your motorhome to avoid any obstacles. It does give you an extra clearance of about 7 3/4 inches between your vehicle and your motorhome. This is made in the USA of durable steel, and this shank that will insert into your hitch receiver opening is solid steel. This will resist rust and corrosion with this black powder coat finish, and as you can see, it does come with this threaded hitch bolt and clip that will act as an anti-rattle device. It takes the noise and the movement out of your hitch when the extender is installed, then once you get this hitch bolt in far enough, and as it starts making its way through on the other side, then you can just go ahead and secure this with the clip. more

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this etrailer 1 1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch receiver adapter with a 6 1/2 inch extension. Now, this adapter will let you use your two inch hitch-mounted accessories with your 1 1/4 inch hitch receiver, and it also allow you to gain an extra 6 1/2 inches of length, 5 1/2 inches of rise, or 4 1/4 inches of drop when installing your two inch hitch receivers. It is very easy to use, basically, you'll just soft slide this solid shank down here into your 1 1/4 inch hitch receiver, secure it with a 1/2 inch pining clip or a hitch lock, and then your two inch hitch accessory will slide into this two inch receiver opening, and secure it in place with a 5/8 inch diameter pin and clip or hitch lock. Now, the pins and clips or the hitch locks that we mentioned are not included, those we do sell separately on our website. This part is a sturdy steel construction, does have a nice matte black powder coat finish over a protective base coat, and it's the same finish that's used on our etrailer hitches to give you superior rust resistance. more

Now this hitch reducer sleeve will let you use your 2-inch hitch bike rack with your 2 and a half inch by 2 and a half inch hitch receiver. Basically these two pieces will slide into the trailer hitch receiver, and it reduces the size from that 2 and a half inch by 2 and a half inch down to the 2-inch by 2-inch. Draw-Tite Hitch Extender Review- Video
The problem with most Jeeps is as we start to put some accessories on our hitch at the back, the tire gonna get in the way. So we're trying to put a bike rack on here, as you can see, the hitch pin hole is not even getting close to the hitch pin hole on our hitch, and that's because of this tire here. Even if we did have a stock tire, we're still gonna have this issue. So we're gonna solve that here today. This is a hitch extender, pretty much what this is gonna do, is just move that hitch back a little bit. This one's gonna move it back about 18 inches, just so we can actually use some accessories, whether it's a cargo carrier, bike rack, whatever it may be, this is gonna allow us to actually put some accessories in the hitch of our Jeep. more

Tow Ready Hitch Adapter Review- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the tow ready hitch adapter. So if you have a two inch hitch like I do on my vehicle, but you have an accessory that needs an inch and a quarter, this is going to convert it down to that size. But with any type of converter, we are going to be adding a little bit of length to the back, and this is gonna cut our hitches capacity in half. So right now my gross trailer weight of my hitch is 12,000 pounds. So now it's 6,000 pounds. The tongue weight is about 600 pounds and now it's 300 pounds. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter Review- Video
Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt trailer hitch adapter. So if you have a two-inch hitch receiver, but you have some 1-1/4 inch accessories you wanna use, you can do with this adapter, but with any adapter, when you put it into the hitch receiver, as you can see, we're moving the point of which the accessory is gonna go in, out. And for this one, from the center of the hitch-pin hole, to the center of the hitch-pin hole, it's about four inches. So with any adaptor, or extender of your hitch, we're gonna cut this capacity in half. So my trailer hitch can have 12,000 pounds of gross trailer weight, but now only 6,000 pounds, and then the tongue weight of my head receiver is 600 pounds, so now it is 300 pounds. But if you do have a hitch that's bigger than a class 3 'cause that's the minimum class rating that you can use this adapter with, we wanna make sure that we're not gonna exceed 350 pounds of tongue weight, 'cause that is the capacity of the reducer. more

So this is gonna come in handy if you maybe upgrade your truck or your hitch, and the hitch has different size, than a lot of your accessories. Reese Super Titan Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve Review- Video
Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Reese Hitch Reducer. So if you just upgraded trucks and now you have a massive hitch receiver, but you like the ball mount that you had before, B and W is kind of a high end ball mount, if you want to continue to use it, you can just reduce the size of your hitch receiver, and that's what the Reese is gonna be good for. It's gonna bring this down from a three inch all the way down to a two inch. So this is gonna bring our hitch capacity down a little bit. So now it's gonna have a gross trailer weight of 12,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 1,200 pounds. And this thing is gonna be one of the options that's actually gonna kind of stick out, so if you also need a little bit more distance from your hitch to whatever you're hooking up on, this is gonna give you a little bit more. more

Adam So we got a problem. I want to use this bike rack, but I can't even get it in there to put the hitch pin in because it gets so close to the bumper. So we do have a solution. All I need is an extender. So this one is the Brophy extender and this is going to solve our problem. It installs like any other accessory that you put in your hitch before. more

CR Brophy Hitch Extender Review- Video
We got a problem. We want to put this bike rack on, but as you can see, it is touching the bumper. And also the exhaust that comes out of this car, it's going to be right on our bikes when the bikes are loaded or directly on this bike rack. So, we have a solution. We have a hitch extender from Brophy, and this is just gonna give us a little bit more distance, just so we don't have those issues. I only really need an inch for it to clear, but we have about five and three quarters of an inch of extension with this. more

Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension Review- Video
Spokesman We have a problem here with the Jeep or any of the other vehicles you may have. Sometimes that hitch is a little too recess, and you're going to have a little bit of issues clearing. So with the Jeep, some bike racks, we're going to have a little bit of context. So the bike rack, isn't going to be able to go all the way in, and as this tire width starts to increase more and more bike racks and accessories, aren't going to be able to fit. You can see the issue down here, our hole is here, and we need to get here. So we need at least that much of an extension. more
